For sale is my VQ Models 80″ SBD-5 Dauntless, which is in genuinely immaculate condition and has flown just four times from new.
This is a very high-spec example, built and equipped with quality components throughout, with particular attention paid to getting the scale appearance and characteristic Dauntless stance correct.

The canopy has been set up in the classic open Dauntless configuration, with both the pilot and rear gunner positions open, which really adds to the scale appearance.
The model has had only four flights and is absolutely immaculate.
What you’re getting
The current replacement cost of the major equipment fitted to the model is approximately £985, before even allowing for the airframe, scale oleos, wheels, wiring, connectors, series lead and all the work involved in building and setting everything up.
That £985 comprises approximately:

The only new 81″ Dauntless currently readily available is the Nexa 2060mm SBD-5 from Motion RC EU, which is listed at €1,029 including VAT for the ARF airframe alone, before adding any motor, ESC, servos, retracts or batteries.
So at £995, you’re getting an immaculate, four-flight Dauntless with approximately £985 worth of current replacement-cost equipment already installed, plus the airframe, scale undercarriage setup and all the work of building and configuring it.
In other words, you’re effectively getting the complete airframe and installation for virtually nothing compared with building an equivalent model from new.
